As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.
North London Hospice is committed to providing the highest quality palliative and end of life care and support for patients and families living with a life limiting illness.
The Hospice only receives a small proportion of our funding from the NHS and rely on donations and legacies from generous people in the community to provide the cost of caring for three out of every four patients.
We know that every cancer diagnosis is different. Whether you are diagnosed with cancer or your loved one is, you can feel an array of different emotions; shock, fear, sadness, or you may question why this has happened.
Our services are designed to suit you, there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ approach to our support, because there isn’t one for cancer. We provide complementary therapies, emotional and practical support which you can chose from dependent on your situation as well as your physical and emotional well being. All of the services on offer are there as and when you feel ready and can benefit most from them to help you cope with and come to terms with a cancer diagnosis.
All of our clients have an initial assessment, which is more of a chat, so that we can assess the support you require and start booking sessions we know will provide you immediate relief, comfort and solace.
In loving memory of a dear colleague, Jim, may he rest in peace. Sending my thoughts and best wishes to his family and loved ones. Charlotte
